What ever the case may be, hunting requires a lot of different gear or hunting equipment to make
the experience the best it can be. The first goal about hunting is to be safe. Whether you're hunting the elusive Whitetail deer, the quick fleeting ducks, the keen eyed turkeys, or the tasty ruffed grouse, you must agree that dropping any of these wild animals is not worth being involved in any accidents that could involve violations or injuries.

The weapon you plan on hunting with must be technically sound and you must be able to handle it with great care and accuracy. It doesn't matter whether your hunting equipment consists of a  a high powered rifle, a shotgun, a compound bow, or a crossbow, knowing your weapon and what it is capable of is a must. Respecting that weapon and the privilege to bear arms in this country should never be taken for granted.

The wild game you are hunting also deserves all the respect and attention you can give it. Hunting means to understand your game and try to out-smart them in their habitat. Putting yourself into their heads and patterning them, and fooling them, and out-thinking them, while putting up with the outdoor elements can be very challenging.

But, the hunt is what it is all about. Not the kill. Managing wild game also comes into question to most hunters.  While I enjoy seeing young hunters learning the great sport, I sometimes wonder if they’re really being taught to hunt or just to KILL?

Please take the time to teach someone to HUNT. Don't show them shortcuts to killing. I believe the trophy is in the eyes of the beholder. As we get older, the more we should desire to try and take more mature animals. Thus allowing junior hunters to learn that progression. More healthy and mature adult animals will be available to everyone, if we manage the game better.

Make sure you have the hunting equipment and Outdoor Gear to properly take care of your game after harvesting the animals.  When you put a lot of time and effort into this sport, don't waste the animals. I'll bet that near you is a local pantry or donation center that would use your game, if you won't.

I look at hunting as therapy. There is nothing like being out in the woods when the sun rises and the fog clears to a crisp beautiful day. I can be one with nature and it's Creator. Just being in a tree stand in the fall is
good for the soul. I get a lot of great thinking done there, and I know you do too.

And if you're like my family, and me we enjoy each other’s company more than anything. The one thing that most people will tell you are that they enjoy the camaraderie with family and friends each and every year of hunting season.  The success rate surely wouldn't be the drawing factor where I hunt; it's definitely the people and the land.

Get your hunting equipment updated early, and inventoried and let us help with your needs.

Be safe and enjoy this great privilege.  Your hunting equipment will make the difference.
